About Marleen Joubert

Marleen Joubert graduated with a B Occ. Degree from Stellenbosch University in 2010 and pursued further studies, including a post-graduate diploma in Hand Therapy from the University of Pretoria in 2013 and a Masters in Occupational Therapy from Stellenbosch University in 2018. Her career includes treating in- and outpatients in hospitals across the Free State and Gauteng, where she developed a passion for workplace injury rehabilitation and vocational assessment.

Certified in WorkWell’s Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE), and the Psychiatric Functional Capacity Evaluator (PFCE), developed by Karen Theunissen, Marleen is also a certified PGAP (Progressive Goal Attainment Program) provider and a Sensory Intelligence® Practitioner. In 2025, she completed the Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) training for Occupational Therapists (DBT Skills Deep Dive).

Drawing on her additional training, Marleen offers a well-rounded and client-centred approach to therapy. She has developed her skills in vocational rehabilitation, case management, comprehensive driving evaluations, and functional capacity evaluations.

Marleen Joubert embraces Virginia "Ginny" Stoffel's philosophy: "Occupational therapy practitioners ask, ‘What matters to you?’ not, ‘What’s the matter with you?’" This guides Marleen's patient care approach, prioritizing understanding her clients' goals and priorities for personalized and effective therapy.
